In English, we say:
“Good morning!”, so people reply: “Good morning!” But, Arabic has different
reply.
Let’s see the
expressions in Arabic below:
صَبَاحَ الْخَيْر!
Good morning!
صَبَاحَ النُّوْر!
Good morning! (reply)
According to the
expressions above, we can see the difference on the word الْخَيْر and النُّوْر.
Let’s see the
vocabularies:
صَبَاحَ (sobaha) comes from صَبَاحٌ (sobahun): morning
الْخَيْرُ: fine
النُّوْرُ: ray
OK. Besides the unique
reply similar to the expression above, we also can see such reply on Good day,
Good afternoon and Good evening. I will write them on other tutorials. OK!
In practice, some
Muslims usually say:
“Assalamu’alaikum”
Then, “Sobahal hoir!”
