Arabic My Friend

Hello Katabah!

On this Arabic tutorial, I make some sentences by using phrase “my friend”. It will be implemented either as male or female.

هَذَا صَدِيْقِىْ، هُوَ تِلْمِيْذٌ

هَذِهِ صَدِيْقَتِىْ، هِيَ تِلْمِيْذَةٌ

هَذَا صَدِيْقٌ، هُوَ تِلْمِيْذُكَ

هَذِهِ صَدِيْقَةٌ، هِيَ تِلْمِيْذَتُكَ

هَذَا صَدِيْقٌ، هُوَ تِلْمِيْذُكِ

هَذِهِ صَدِيْقَةٌ، هِيَ تِلْمِيْذَتُكِ

TRANSLATION (TARJAMAH)

1. This is my friend (male). He is a student (male).

2. This is my friend (female). She is a student (female).

3. This is a friend (male). He is your (male) student (male).

4. This is a friend (female). She is your (male) student (female).

5. This is a friend (male). He is your (female) student (male).

6. This is a friend (female). She is your (female) student (female).

VOCABULARY (MUFRADAT)

هَذَا: this (male)

هَذِهِ: this (female)

صَدِيْقِىْ: my friend (male)

صَدِيْقَتِىْ: my friend (female)

هُوَ: he

هِيَ: she

تِلْمِيْذٌ: student (male)

تِلْمِيْذَةٌ: student (female)

صَدِيْقٌ: friend (male)

صَدِيْقَةٌ: friend (female)

تِلْمِيْذُكَ: your (male) student (male)

تِلْمِيْذَتُكَ: your (male) student (female)

تِلْمِيْذُكِ: your (female) student (male)

تِلْمِيْذَتُكِ: your (female) student (female)

GRAMMAR (NAHWU)

I translate word “تِلْمِيْذُكِ” into “your (female) student (male)”. What does it mean?

“كِ” refers to your (female), while “كَ” refers to your (male).
